Every laminate floor consist of several main components that are fused together forming the final laminate flooring product. Laminate flooring has a surface layer of thin sheets of material impregnated with melamine resin.The upper most layer has a high resolution image of whatever the flooring is duplicating. This is coated by a very hard transparent wear layer making your laminate flooring extremely resistant to scratches and marring from traffic.

Laminate flooring is comprised of different layers of material. The Backing or Bottom Layer ( also termed The Balancing Layer ) . This layer has the function is to resist moisture ( moisture protection is necessary for all floor coverings ) and add the required stability to the floor planking. The next layer is The Inner Core Layer. The inner core layer is comprised of a high density particle board or fiberboard that has been totally saturated in melamine plastic that makes the inner core very strong, stable, and water resistant. Then the Patterned Layer. The patterned layer is a thin material that has been printed with a high resolution image of wood grain, natural stone or whatever finish is required. This is combined with extremely high pressure presses for textures that makes the laminate look and feel like a natural flooring surface.
Last we have The Top Wear Layer. The wear layer is a clear plastic resin, that provides protection to the flooring surface from traffic: gouges, scratches, denting, marring, stains and again, moisture penetration. This layer is highly durable and provides that the laminate floor is a high quality flooring material for both the homeowner and commercial business owner. These are the basic components of every laminate flooring material produced.
